Training

For educational purposes, CATHII raises awareness about the issue of human trafficking in Quebec, Canada and internationally, through training sessions and other means, offered to CATHII members and their networks, to organizations and groups that request it, as well as to the general public.

Public awareness and prevention

CATHII regularly offers introductory and analytical activities on the issues of human trafficking aimed at the general public. It also uses social media to disseminate relevant prevention and awareness campaigns and messages.

Training for members and allies.

CATHII regularly offers training to its members and to those wishing to join its activities and campaigns. This is done through in-person training sessions, webinars and online workshops, as well as through the publication of CATHII-info.

Some activities are reserved for a specific audience. This is the case with the Universities and Experience at the UN project, during which an interdisciplinary group of university students have the opportunity to participate in activities surrounding the Commission on the Status of Women in New York.

Customized training

In addition to its regular activities, CATHII offers training on human trafficking to groups and organizations upon request. Lasting from 1.5 to 3 hours, CATHII training sessions use an interactive format that encourages discussion and in-depth exploration of participants' questions.

The training courses offered by CATHII pursue the following objectives:
– To raise awareness of the reality of trafficking in Quebec, Canada and elsewhere in the world;
– To reflect on the social issues posed by human trafficking;
– To better understand the causes and consequences of this exploitation on the victims or survivors;
– To discover avenues for individual or collective action.

The format and cost of training sessions are determined based on the group or organization, and where possible, the requesting organization covers travel and accommodation costs. Organizations or groups wishing to benefit from such training can contact CATHII to discuss the arrangements and possibilities with the team.
